Manuals of Interest to the Gardener
Plant Protection Programs of the University of Missouri has recently
published two manuals of interest to the home gardener: Turfgrass
and Insects ($5.00) and Caterpillars in Your Yard and Garden
($3.00). The former discusses the damage caused by certain insects
to turfgrass and strategies for controlling these pests. Subsurface
feeding insects, surface feeding insects and occasional pests are
all covered.
Caterpillars in Your Yard and Garden provides a pictorial guide to
using basic characteristics in identifying caterpillars commonly
encountered in yards and gardens. This information is particularly
useful to those interested in butterfly gardening and conservation.
Both manuals are full-color and can be purchased or viewed on-line
