MU Botanic Garden Spring Classes

ANNUAL FLOWERS: Charles Paxton, Assistant Director of the MU Botanic Garden, will take you on a walking tour of the diversity of annual flowers that are available to brighten your summer garden. You’ll learn about many new and not-so-new annual flower cultivars and how to use them in the landscape. You’ll also learn how to care for your plants to ensure maximum bloom for the summer season. The tour will be an open forum for discussing all aspects of annual flower design and culture. Meet at the Memorial Union arch 6:30 p.m., June 25. Class will be held, rain or shine. The cost for members is $8. The cost for non-members is $10.

A GARDEN RAMBLE: Take a guided stroll around the MU Botanic Garden’s perennial plantings with Landscape Gardener Marsha Bower. The recently completed gardens surrounding the historic Francis Quadrangle host a wide variety of herbaceous perennials for both sun and shade. Marsha will discuss plant characteristics, cultural requirements and maintenance and will answer your questions about perennials. Meet at the steps of Ellis Library, 6:30 p.m., June 27. Class will be held, rain or shine. The cost for members is $8. The cost for non-members is $10.
