Blown-glass Exhibition at Botanical Garden Promises to Amaze
Beginning in late April, a unique artistic experience beyond floral and horticultural beauty awaits us at the Missouri
Botanical Garden in St. Louis. This unique exhibit provides an experience "that juxtaposes fine art with nature."
Inspired by his earlier visits to our fine garden in St. Louis, Dale Chihuly, glass sculpture artist of international
fame, was moved to create monumental abstract glass pieces of vibrant color and shapes that evoke wonder--all to
complement the distinctive green beauty that inheres in the Missouri garden. In this display, according to director
Peter Raven, "the Climatron will become a spectacular greenhouse gallery of glass under glass, with sculptures placed
among thousands of exotic tropical plants."
Date: Wednesday, May 10
Time: 8 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m.
Registration deadline: Tuesday, April 18
