Soybean Insecticide Seed Treatments Available for 2005 By Wayne Bailey

Commercial applied insecticide seed treatments will be available to producers this year. The first two insecticides available will be Poncho (Bayer) and Cruiser (Syngenta). Both will be placed with fungicides to provide seedling protection from insects and plant pathogens. Early season insect targets of these seed treatments include seedcorn maggot, soybean aphid (not an early season pest of soybean in Missouri at this time), bean leaf beetle and white grub. Initial testing in Missouri and other states indicate good control of early season insect pests of soybean.
