notepad Armyworms in Wheat Fields

In wheat, treatment for true armyworm is justified when an average of four or more non-parasitized, half-grown (3/4 to 1 1/4 inch) or larger worms per square foot are present during late spring or when 2 to 3 percent or more of seed heads are cut from stems by this pest. If an insecticide application is necessary on wheat, use one of the following insecticides.

*Mustang Max 1.76 to 4.0 fl oz 14 days grain, forage, or hay
*Penncap-M 2 to 3 pts 15 days grain harvest or graze
*Proaxis 2.56 to 3.84 fl oz Do not apply within 30 days of harvest.
